Skyreal VR

How do I convert CAD files to VR?

Simply import any CAD file into Skyreal VR. CAD file conversion and preparation are performed automatically. Your file instantly becomes a VR-ready scene while preserving all metadata and the full product tree, with zero manual rework.

FAQ linked in:

What industries use Skyreal VR?

Our customers come mainly from aerospace, space, energy, automotive, defense and AEC. They include ArianeGroup, Airbus, Naval Group, KNDS, Safran, Orano, General Motors, and Egis, among many others.

FAQ linked in:

What is a CAD to VR solution?

CAD-to-VR software converts CAD models into immersive, interactive experiences. SKYREAL turns any CAD file into a real-time VR scene powered by Unreal Engine 5, enabling engineering teams to review, collaborate, and validate designs in VR rather than on a flat screen.

XR Center

Do you enable web apps for accessing XR content?

Yes, we do. XR Center allows you to easily access to your XR content through standard web browsers. To deliver high-end industrial visualizations without the need for powerful local hardware, we leverage Unreal Engine’s Pixel Streaming technology.

By streaming the 3D engine’s output directly to a web browser, we ensure that users can interact with complex high-fidelity digital twins on any device (including laptops and tablets) while the heavy computational processing is handled by a centralized server or cloud instance.

This makes sharing and reviewing your VR projects as simple as sending a URL link, significantly lowering the barrier to entry for stakeholders across your organization.

FAQ linked in:

Does XR Center allow collaboration for more than 10 simultaneous users?

Yes, absolutely. XR Center is built to support large-scale collaborative sessions, far exceeding the 10-user threshold. Our architecture is optimized to handle massive industrial CAD data while synchronizing multiple participants in the same virtual environment, whether they are in the same room or connected from different global sites.

There is no hard software limit to the number of participants; the capacity primarily depends on your network bandwidth and hardware configuration. This allows for comprehensive multi-disciplinary reviews, where engineers, ergonomists, and stakeholders can collaborate in real-time on a single “Digital Twin” to accelerate decision-making cycles.

FAQ linked in:

Does XR Center support on-premise deployment?

Yes. We understand that for our industrial clients data sovereignty and security are paramount. XR Center is designed to be fully deployable on-premise. This means your 3D models, CAD data, and simulation scenarios remain strictly within your corporate network infrastructure.

Our solution can operate in entirely air-gapped environments without requiring an external internet connection, ensuring total compliance with your internal IT security policies.

However, for organizations looking for more flexibility and reduced infrastructure maintenance, XR Center is also available as a cloud-based solution. This hybrid approach allows you to choose the deployment model that best fits your operational needs and IT strategy.

FAQ linked in:

How do you scale an XR pilot project to industrial level?

The real obstacle isn’t the headset, it’s the infrastructure: CAD data integration, multi-site collaboration, and data sovereignty. XR Center removes all three barriers from a single platform, deployable in the cloud, on-premise, or in an air-gapped environment.

FAQ linked in:

What is the minimum number of users required to start using XR Center?

You can start with as little as one person. Our model is designed to be highly flexible: you can begin with a single floating license, which allows different team members to use the software as needed.

From there, XR Center is built to scale seamlessly alongside your projects. Whether you want to add more individual users or expand to large-scale collaborative departments, you can easily upgrade and deploy additional licenses to match your growth and operational requirements.

FAQ linked in:

What is your approach to cybersecurity?

XR Center is built to meet “Industrial Grade” cybersecurity standards. We understand that for our clients and partners, data is a strategic asset that requires maximum protection. This is why our solution is already trusted and authorized for use by our most demanding clients in highly regulated sectors, including Defense, Energy, Aerospace, Automotive, and Space.

Whether deployed on-premise within secured networks or on-cloud via protected instances, XR Center integrates seamlessly into your existing security frameworks. We ensure that your intellectual property and sensitive CAD data are shielded by robust encryption and strict access controls, meeting the rigorous compliance requirements of Tier-1 industrial global leaders.

CAD Forge

Can I import CAD files to XR from several formats at once?

Yes. CAD Forge lets you import CAD files to XR from different sources (CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, SOLIDWORKS, STEP, IFC, etc.) and merge them into a single experience. Processing runs offline, on-premise, to keep your 3D data confidential.

FAQ linked in:

How does CAD Forge convert CAD files to XR without losing metadata?

CAD Forge opens CAD files using third-party libraries, then converts them into a neutral tessellated format (triangle mesh) before optimizing them for real-time rendering. The resulting assembly tree, part names, attributes, and metadata are all preserved. Tessellation accuracy is customizable (millimeter-level by default). In XR, every part stays selectable just as it was in the original CAD model.

FAQ linked in:

How does CAD-to-Unreal Engine conversion work with CAD Forge?

Once the CAD file has been read, CAD Forge generates the neutral tessellated format. From that format, CAD Forge Max’s multi-agent infrastructure converts the 3D data into assets optimized for Unreal Engine. This step adapts the 3D format to a specific engine (Unreal Engine or Unity, for example) by leveraging that engine’s dedicated optimization techniques, such as Nanite (virtualized geometry) and HLOD (hierarchical level of detail) for Unreal Engine.

FAQ linked in:

Is BREP data retained on the platform after import?

No, it isn’t. Only the tessellated 3D data is retained (plus product structure and metadata); the original construction data (NURBS) is never uploaded, for cybersecurity reasons.

FAQ linked in:

What is CAD Forge’s key strength?

CAD Forge takes advantage of recent rendering technologies that no longer require geometry decimation (reducing the triangle count), because they rely on advanced cluster-based LOD techniques (Nanite). The chord error (SAG), the maximum deviation between the CAD surface and its mesh, never exceeds the value set at import.

Unreal Licenses

Which industries does SKYREAL serve with Unreal Engine licenses?

SKYREAL distributes commercial licenses across Simulation and Training, Automotive and HMI, Architecture and Real Estate, Film and TV, Virtual Production, and direct industrial VR applications.

Who needs a commercial Unreal Engine license?

Any organization generating more than $1 million USD in annual gross revenue must use a commercial license to deploy Unreal Engine in production. Free licenses are reserved for individuals and companies with annual revenue below this threshold.

What is a user license at SKYREAL?

We offer two types of licenses: STUDIO licenses (the full suite) that allow you to prepare your own immersive scenes, customize them and work in them and PLAYERS licenses that allow you to join a scene prepared by a STUDIO user to work.

SKYREAL’s license format is adaptable to your needs, so you can choose to have a license per Virtual Reality headset (or CAVE) or to have a license per connected user (floating license).

What is an MSD ?

Musculoskeletal Disorders are injuries or disorders of the muscles, nerves, tendons, joints, cartilage, and spinal discs – according to cdc (centers for disease control and prevention).

MSDs result from an imbalance between the body’s physical capabilities and the demands and stresses to which it is subjected.
